USE OF COOKIES
What are cookies and what are they used for?
The word cookies refers to small text files that are downloaded into the web browser of a user's device (computer, mobile phone, tablet, etc.) when browsing a website, application or computer platform.
Cookies offer major advantages in the provision of information society services, as they facilitate and speed up internet browsing and also help to improve the quality of the services we provide to our users. Cookies, among other things, allow information about users or their devices to be stored and retrieved, which allows us to know which pages or features of a website, application or platform are more useful and which are less so, for the purpose of improving them and, depending on the information they contain and the way your device uses it, they can also be used to recognise the user.
Types of cookies that we use on this site
According to the entity that manages them:
- Own cookies: those we send to a user's device from a computer or domain managed by CBT and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
- Third-party cookies: sent to the user's device from a computer or domain not managed by CBT, but by third parties.
According to the time period they remain active:
- Session cookies: these are temporary and remain in the user's browser until the user leaves the website, application or platform. These cookies facilitate and speed up browsing.
- Persistent cookies: these are the ones by which information is stored on the user's device and can be accessed for a period of time established by those responsible for the cookie (this could be minutes or years).
According to its purpose:
- Technical cookies: these enable the user to browse via a website, application or platform.
- Personalisation cookies: these enable the user to access a service with a number of predefined general features, such as language, type of browser, etc.
- Analysis cookies: these enable the number of users to be quantified and to undertake measurements and statistical analysis of the activity of websites, applications and platforms, and to draw up user browsing profiles in order to introduce improvements.
CBT's own cookies used on this website are technical and personalisation ones which, in turn, can be session and persistent. In accordance with article 22.2 of Law 34/2002 of 11 July 2002, on information society services and electronic commerce, the CBT own cookies referred to do not require the consent of the users.
